Okay, well I know Diego is gone for the day. I was concerned that Diegos map may become unusable with Worldcraft 1.6, so I decompiled QCOMPLEX.BSP into a .MAP and opened it in WorldCraft1.6 just to make sure it would work.

It looks fine and doesn't appear to be missing any textures. There is an error about a solid brush though, which doesn't appear to affect the map. That error should be fixed though.

It compiles okay as well.

I checked out the properties of the map. The ambient lighting is set at 300, which is pretty high. I bumped it down to 100 and the map produced some real nice shadows. Some of the areas look spectacular like an area where there are two concrete beams passing over a room. The beams cast an awesome shadow.

This is Diegos map so I won't mess with it anymore. Diegos texure work is looking better- there is more definition in the map now.

So everything is not lost. :)

Last modification: randall - 04/23/01 at 03:51:46

I have been following this page, and although long it is on topic. And it has inspired me to try and make some custom maps. I ran through the tutorial at "the forge". And this stuff seems pretty easy so far. I am just getting into the more complex stuff though. Also I seem to be lacking in the "creative" department.Last modification: Matt Keys - 04/23/01 at 21:59:07
