Quake on 3800's Problems

Quake on 3800's Problems

Postby quake rulez » Dec 15, 2001 @ 1:10am

I just downloaded the 3800's version of quake on to my 3850 and I find the levels to be way too dark to be playable. The speed is playable when overclocked to 224MHz but the bigest problem is indeed the brighness level in Quake. I've tried setting the backlight to the highess and the brightness in the game to the top but still unplayable. Will there be a fix for at least the brightness very soon? I'd really like to play quake on my new 3850!

I thought I remembered reading that Dan already set quake to its brightest level.

Yes, the brightness is as bright as it gets. I don't know the specifics of your device, but if it uses 12 bit color like the original iPaqs, then that makes the problem worse. The already dark, low-contrast colors of Quake muddle together even further, making the display harder to see.

Dan East

i guess you could try playing a map optimized for pocket pc... a brighter one. but that would only work with quake multiplayer with bots.
