Has anybody heard any more info on the battery extender that was suppose to hook up where the stylus was for the E-1XX series?

That's a joke, just like the tweaked Gameboy running WinME or Counterstrike on a Cassiopeia. <br>Those solar paddles would never make enough energy for the iPAQ!

Yeah, I know.  But way while back, when Dennis use to run his site.  There was that battery extender for the the Casio's.  Since then, I haven't heard anything since.  I want be able to extend my battery pack for a least another hour and don't wanna build one of those big @$$ battery extenders.  I can buy a extra battery but that will just defeat the purpose of not taking my Casio out of it's case.

Do you mean the battery extender that runs off double AA's (Or was it AAA's?). I saw something like that... on Brighthand I think. Does that really work?

Randal, you are correct.  I seen it, I read about it, and I haven't heard anymore about it since.

Matt, Yeah, I know about that too.  But I don't wanna carry an extra pack of anything.  I'm just trying to find out if the one with either 2 double AA or AAA's were going to be put into production or was it not.

I have seen a few how-toos on battery extenders. but i'm not sure of the URL. the site had details for 54X, EM-XXX, and H3XXX, but, i'd just go down to radioshack and get them to make an adapter using the one that came with my PDA. and hook some batteries into it, and keep the pack in my pocket when i'm using the WMP. Should i use 32 or 64kbps?

Doh, yeah, I can put it in my pocket but i already have too much stuff in my pocket.  64kbps for wmv.  Sounds better than 32kbps.

ya 32kbps is pretty poor quality. 64 is bad enough.

After reading several articles on making a battery extender, I decided to do it the easy way, with a car DC power adapter for my Jornada 548, since I planned to buy one anyway.  The adapter cost around $30 with S&H from HP and the rest of materials I purchased from Radio Shack for less then $5.  All you need is a battery holder for 8 batteries (any type), a 9-volt snap connector and female conector for the DC power adaptor.  After making it, and testing the output voltage, I was pleased to find that it didn't matter if I connected the car adapter to an 8 AA battery setup or to 4 AA batteries, the output was the same, 5.18 volts. That takes care of any problems with burning out my PDA with too much voltage.  Obviously, the DC adapter controls the output voltage, at least for any input between 6 and 12 volts.  And the whole thing fits into a small pocket camera case, along with the PDA.
