Don't these bureaucrats know how easy it is for a true pirate to circumvent ANY AND ALL means of copyright protection? I could get behind all of it quite easily with a few choice apps downloadable freely off the net. And for hardwired copyright protection? So I go get a tape deck and record the music off a friend's CD, or I record the DVD onto a MD in an uncopyrighted form, or many other ways with many other formats.

I think the intention is good, but they don't know squat. I think they feel they have to do something, and because they're truely ignorant about what they're talking about, they come up with these really dumbass ideas. I know this only explains, but it doesn't justify their actions.

It seems to me that any of these laws desiged to protect intellectual property aren't going to stop you guys from stealing so what difference does it make what laws they pass?  Why should you care?<br><br>I'm just waiting for RIAA and MPIA to start offering a bounty for anonymous tips that lead to arrests.  As soon as that happens I'll be raking in the cash - legally!<br><br>

I agree with you. The last one that I liked was Load. Reload was total crap. The album S&M that they recorded live with a symphony orchestra was ok, but nothing new on it. If I lost my CD, after already buying once (or twice, like Randall), I too would download at least the tracks I liked more.

Luciano, I know that the article was pointing out the stupidity of the law.<br><br>Here's the thing that pisses me off about Metallica. I bought "kill 'em all", "ride the lightening" and "master of puppets" on tape, back in the eighties. When I finally got a CD player bought them on CD as well, and added "justice for all" and "garage days revisited".<br><br>In the mid-nineties, alot of my CDs were stolen. So I had to replace every one of those AGAIN.<br><br>For those of you keeping count, I have bought most of Metallicas crap at least twice. Some of the early stuff I have bought NO LESS THAN THREE times.<br><br>Lars can bite my ass. I'll download his shit every day of the week just to spite his lame ass. I'm tired of throwing money at him. So, Digby, what part of ANY of this is illegal activity?<br><br>I did buy the "black" CD as well, but it was so limp compared to their older stuff that I just gave up on them. I think they have released 4 or 5 CDs since- none of which I have bought, or felt compelled to download. That is how bad their new shit is.<br><br><br><br>
