I mean the new new not even out yet 325ti Compact. Oh, I have seen a COMPLETELY stock Corrado at a show before, it was weird. I live in Massachusetts now, and people don't have nice cars here. Camry's and Accord's everywhere and tons and tons of stupid SUVs with fat soccer moms that think they own the road and try to rear-end our Beetle on the highway. In Boston though, the most common car by far is the VW Jetta. My parents have 2 New Beetles, boths TDIs, which you probably know about. I don't really like the Corrado in red though, but there's still tons of things you can do to it. Some simple stuff is change the yellow part of the back lights to white, it'll look good on the red background. Oh, and those rims won't do, there's MUCH better. Look into MOMO wheels or others, the Porsche Turbo wheel looks SOO good on the Corrado. Here's a pic of me and my dad's Bug - damn, won't work, the site's down. Oh well. The MINI Cooper is gonna be sweet. The Cooper S is awesome, bucket seats, racing stripes, the works. So your mom made your dad sell his Cooper, I know the feeling. My mom made my dad sell his awesome 1979 Volkswagen Scirocco Champaign Edition. There's VERY few ever made, and they look AWESOME! BUT! My dad had to sell it :-( Now you don't even see the pre-1980 style Scirocco anymore, and you'll never see the Champaign Edition. Oh, and 999, we are related, I am you father's cousin's son's cute girlfriend's lesbian lover's mother's nightly bingo partner's grandson's college roommate's friend.

Hah, cool relation :)

As for the color, my current Corrado is in White, and prolly my last white car Ever. Damn, they get dirty too friggen fast!

The ADR rims come with the Red one I'm buying, so I'm not complaining :) I know there are better, but I don't want to invest in them until I get the quirks of this new car down. It's a little lower, and has all new racing suspension, and a swaybar, something my white Corrado doesn't have. I'd hate to take a chunk out of a set of new MOMOs or BBS misjudging a corner because it hugs tighter.

Ah, off to the bank, gotta square away my downpayment and shite.

Post some piccies of u'r Bugs!!!

BTW- I've owned mainly VWs :) First one was a Microbus, not a 21 window, it was a '71 I think. I sported out the 914pancake engine in it and could pop wheelies with the thing! :P I only raced it a couple times because it only went straight :P But I did beat my friends CivicDX hatchback. He had a muffler mod, not much, but hey, I was in a Bus for cripes sake!

BTW- My Dad flipped his Sirocco! I'm not sure which year, but I know it was a special edition, perhaps the one you're talking about.

He only had it a month, and flipped it taking a turn too hard. He went up the curb, which was one of those angled ones for handicapped pedistrians. The rest is history, it flipped 4 or 5 times. :\

Hey 999! I just went to a VW show on Sunday in western Connecticut. There was about 250 cars in total. The bad thing about this show is that there's no New Beetle class, so we had to be in the Watercooled Custom 1993+ Class, so we had to complete against 21 other cars, all insanely custom Golf's and Jetta's. We lost obviously, but did get high on the list. But there was something with the judges, bribing maybe, because these three Golf's that were bearly modified (only mods were 18" wheels), and they won 1st 2nd and 3rd. These other 3 cars next to us should have won, but they lost against these nearly STOCK cars! Who knows, but all I know is that I'm goin' to Waterfest '01!!!! The biggest and best! It's in Jersey on July 17th I think. I know it's in New Jersey though. You should of seen this Corrado at the show, INSANE! It was blue with SO many mods. IT HAD NITROUS!!! INSANITY! It won best of show watercooled. There was this red Corrado with the backlights all red, it looked real nice, you should do that to yours, it's cheap. 18" wheels are a bit more expensive... I'll try to get some pic of my car on here somehow, but I lost all the pictures, so who knows. Gotta go, see ya yo.

Wow, that sounds awesome. My check finally cleared, so I'm hoping to make my downpayment today and drive the car off the lot (finally).

A thing about those competitions, Stock will always take the prize. I don't know what it is with VW judges, but they have a wet spot for truly *stock* vdubs. Escpecially the ones that look like they just came outta the factory. You could trick your bug out to fricken fly, but it would still lose to a stock split window beetle, sad but true. I guess the idea is, the car was perfect to begin with, so modding it out only tarnishes the original design.

I personally think they should hold a Custom and Stock competition, because a stock rabbit shouldn't win over a highly modified and super clean beetle or corrado simply because the judge happened to love the old rabbit bucket seats.

Umm, 999, there are separate classes for stock and custom. I don't have an aircooled VW (999 and I are probably the only people here who know the difference between aircooled and watercooled). It's only at this show that the judging is SO screwed up. Last year, we were put into the stock class (we were less modified back then), but we were disqualified for being too custom for stock, but too stock for custom! This year we went into the custom class, but the judges were idiots. In the stock class was this super super custom (more than mine) New Beetle, in the stock class, and won first! That was super unfair (even though the owner is our friend, and is a hot young chic). And this is the only show that doesn't have a New Beetle class. Where do you live 999? I may be able to tell you some of the shows, if you live near me.
