Windows2000 is not for everyday use by an amateur computer user. I built my own computer, so I thought I'd buy W2k with the 75% off OEM deal. I got it, dual booted it and Win2k. Windows2000 is so much slower than WinME and 98 that for games it wasn't worth it. And stability? My system doesn't fataly crash that often that I have to hard reset. Windows2000 is if you need your system to run all the time, like a server machine. It's not faster, and if you don't have it running all the time it's no more stable than WinME. Stick to the 9x series, Win2k is too complicated for everyday useage. You have to set up permissions, users, groups, hardware profiles, etc. etc. Don't bother!

Don't buy Win2000 to dual boot, if you already have it, fine. But it's usually just a waste of HD space.
