Frustration

Re: Frustration

Postby Turnip » Sep 13, 2001 @ 10:42am

I like all the films that have been named.

2001 is classic, but only because I dig sci-fi shit. Most of my buddies have never seen it. It's not really eye candy.

However, we do spend innumerable hours watching Road Trip, American Pie, Can't Hardly Wait, Mallrats, etc etc - because they're are fucking hysterical. Wanna come hang out w/ us Paul? :)

mallrats - i'll give you that. kevin smith is a genius. but his humour is nothing like the shit in american pie etc. at least his stuff is grown up and intelligent not just "oh he farted! teeheehee!"

No self-respecting Kevin Smith fan would use Mallrats as an example of the man's genious. Sheesh, that was his crappiest movie. Arggg....

American Pie, Road Trip, Dude, Where's My Car....these are a different genre, but funny in their own right...

Then there is my generation where the REAL humor is (har har). 16 Candles, The Breakfast Club, Stripes, Johnny Dangerously....YEAH!

Have to agree with you, RICoder.
These kids nowadays don't know what a good movie is. ;)
BTW, who saw Soylent (or soylant, I don't remember) Green?
What does it have in comon with Planet of The Apes?

On that subject, I gotta say...I LOVED the original Planet of the Apes...but I really liked the new one too. I mean, shit, Marky Mark is a much better actor than Charlton Heston....which is kinda sad...
i like mallrats, it was the first i had seen of his stuff. chasing amy is the worst (i think so anyway) - not because of the gay/lesbian stuff but because there are less jokes and more romatic stuff which is not the reason i watch kevin smiths films.

soylent green also stars heston but i havent seen it yet coz i keep missing it.

breakfast club is AMAZING, so is stripes and i like ferris bueller too, although i know many dont...

mark is a shitty actor and he looks like a constipated pig. chuck roolz!

Paul! You Suck! You remembered to mention the greatest movie of that generation before me! I hate you! Or perhaps I love you for mentioning it. In a platonic kind of way...I mean...bah

Ferris is a classic, and one of the first DVDs I bought.
"I really do have a test today, that wasn't bullshit. It's on European Socialism or something like that. I'm not European, I don't intend to be European, so who cares if their socialist, they could be facist anarchist for all that matters, it still wouldn't change the fact that I don't have a car."

"Not that I condone socialism, or any ism for that matter. Ism's in my oppinion are bad. I quote John Lennon, I don't believe in Beatles I just believe in me. A good point there, after all he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus, I'd still have to bum rides off people."

i did. i hated it. not only were the actors terrible (tim allen?!? ugh!) but the plot was just irritating.

dont get me wrong, i can laugh at trek as much as the next man, but why the hell were those aliens speaking in monotones?! thats was the most annoying sound i'd ever heard.

oh dear, that film was a big mistake.

you opinion is now worthless.

It's kinda a let down actually. But the remastered audio/video is worth it, plus its widescreen, so the shot with the 2 guys in Cameron's dad's Ferrari is cooler...
Its a classis...maybe I will watch it tonight...

Ya know, I watched 'Galaxy Quest' last night.
[I gotta say, I actually enjoyed it. Did anyone else see it?] -DELETED
I gotta say, it was kinda lame?

*RICoder watches his oppinion fall in value*
