Major Terrorist Attack on USA

Moose,
You proceed under the false assumption that it is "easy" to get the stuff. "easy" to contain it without killing yourself accidently. "easy" to transport it.
This is not even close to the case. What do you think you can do, drive up to USAAMRID and go through the drivethrough to pick up a bag of Ebola? No, better, go to Africa and find where it starts (which no one has done in 20+ years of looking), and scrape it into a baggy?
This isn't stuff you can pick up at KMart, like fertilizer.

It's called a forecast. It's a cast of the weather before hand: fore-cast. Before it happens, you know those, right?

Moose, come on,you know weather forecasting sucks.
Trust us, it's not that simple. Why do you think we never heard of the use of bioweapons? And chemical weapons (in theory, much more simple and cheap) was only "oficially" used was on a civilian population in Iraq (against the Kurds)?
It's too complicated to obtain samples, reproduce the germ, transport and worst of all, deliver over your target. It's tougher then rocket science.

Dan, it's one thing to use a chemical or biological weapon as a terrorist would, and it'sa whole new ball game in the front lines of a war. What me and Ric said above was in reference to their use in a theater of war.
Against a city, as a terrorist's weapon, of course it coud be done. The easeist way would be to contaminate a city's water supply (botulism would do that nicely).

[Addendum to Luci's post]
My oppinion of theater-level use is already stated, see the previous post for more details.

Additionally I feel that the media is overstating the probability of a chemical/biological attack by a terrorist. My reasons are based on other statements I have made. The media is all about flash. The statements they make are conjectural for the most part. I wanted to rent a UHaul last week, and was pissed when there were none left. Does that mean I wanted to make a fargin' truck bomb? Nope.

The media IS NOT a good source of reliable information on a critical matter like this. Not even when there's less tension in the air, imagine now.

That is because the media is made up of fucking losers who are to scared to do anything but talk about what they don't understand. They are a bunch of whinney liberal bastards that spew propaganda and try to pass it off as news. I hate the media.

As if noone could tell.

No, I think the anwser is simpler: they want to make a buck on people's ignorance. It's easier to draw people's attention if you use some bs that people would like to believe rather then the dull truth.
Yes, I have a grudge with the media too. Anywhere you go, they're the same bastards.

Moose was talking about how the terrorists may try and use such agents, which is what the article I posted refers to. That article IMO is not inflating the issue it all. Our government grounded crop dusters around our 30 largest cities, not the media. The terrorists had crop dusting technical manuals and had scoped out the actual hardware. Again, the media isn't making that up. Now granted, various fools get on the news and blow things out of proportion, but as far as this thread is concerned, and the articles it refers to, it has all been pretty accurate. Whether or not the terrorists can come up with anything worthwhile to spray out of a crop duster is another issue. The fact that they were looking for a mechanism to disperse a liquid over a very large area would certainly seem to indicate that they actually have, or at least have in mind, an particular agent to deliver.

On another topic, each time I type the word "Terrorist" I feel like I am giving them more credit than they deserve. Someone needs to coin a new term to use to talk about these criminals. Soldiers aren't called "Killers" or "Conquerors", even though that is what they are supposed to do. Hence a terrorist shouldn't be called that. Are you in "terror" over what happened? I'm not, neither is 99.9999% of the US.

Dan East

Ideas for new term:
Fuck-head
Bastard
Camel-fucker
hmmm....not very nice of me.

Seriously though, I would say "murderous rogues" is fairly descriptive. Eh?

On the crop dusting thing...I still don't buy it. I don't think they can pull it off. But, I've been wrong before....WAIT....NO I HAVEN'T! :)
