That's definitely not normal. You either have a defective unit or the charger is not working properly.

The iPaq can be overclocked / underclocked via software. It's available free at .

Dan East

Or, you could have a super new battery.

LiPolymer has an odd property of gaining more storage capacity the longer it's used. It eventually caps off, but in general, it *will* store more power a couple months down the line than when you first bought it.

Even still, 10-15 minutes sounds really harsh. Try charging/draining your battery a couple times to condidtion it, I've heard that helps. Otherwise, consider exchanging your iPAQ for another device.

Thanks for the info, how long did it take to charge you ipaq the first time ive charged it like 11 hours and it didnt hit 100% it was at like 75% so i just started using it then, could that be the problem ive heard of cell phones freaking out when you don't charge them to 100% the first time.

When I first got my iPAQ, it would rapidly charge up to about 90% or so, but then take much longer to finally top off at 100%.

Now it's a constant rate pretty much. I'd say in about 15-20 minutes I can fully recharge from an almost completely dead battery. This happens to me a lot when playing PQ, I often forget about the battery power warning that just pops through for a frame or two. Next thing I know, my iPAQ just shuts off :)

Chuck, you've got lithium-ion in your casio, the iPAQs have lithium-Polymer in it's battery.

They have much different propeties, amorphous being the biggest advantage.

I have an EM-500 with Lithiom-Ion, and I only get about 3 hours out of it playing music. Is this bad?

nope. playing music strains the processor which makes the battery burn out quicker. Nothin to be alarmed. I do the same all the time. Anything where the processor is workin hard and the amp is on movies/games/music/emu's the battery says "i'm tired" really quick

Yep, like Chuck says, sometimes the application you're using can drain your battery faster.

Unfortunately, that pretty much encompasses everything cool on PocketPCs. Otherwise, you can go for hours on end if all you did was read Email and AvantGO pages.

Hey! Guess what! I don't know why I haven't been doing this before, but I have just discovered you can turn off the screen in Media Player!! I knew you could do this, but was too lazy to figure it out (and it's so simple too). Before, I would get about 3-4 hours from the battery, but now I get about 6-8 hours!!! YEAH!! If you don't know how to do it, go into tools/options and bind a key to screen toggle.

The problem with binding keys to WMP is that if you want to listen to music and play a game like PQ you will have problems. "look, a monster!" /*presses the action button* / *screen off*.
