Lousy Compaq help, Ipaq is useless

Lousy Compaq help, Ipaq is useless

Postby NovaPhoenix » Jun 5, 2001 @ 11:48pm

As some of you know, I spent ages trying to get an Ipaq in the past, I finailly got one and I've encounted problems with it ever since, not only that in recent postings ive told ya all about it being dropped and seriously damaged.

Well, here is the news. People make sure you contact and learn everything about your rights with your PDA. Compaq will NOT help you out at all with your PDA. So far all I';ve been told is that "no parts on an Ipaq device is replacible". Not even the screen can be replaced. Which is the main part i need fixed.

Also from amny studies people have seen how weak an Ipaq is. Its case easily shatters, and the glass is incredibly easy to crack. I've dropped babys that were stonger (metaphore)

Basically people, I'm going to be hunting and chasing up every single Compaq emplyee that I can, and trying to get this situation fixed, but I doubt its gonna happen.

In my finial saying, dont bother buying Ipaq devices, they are weak, easily ruined, and not worth the money. I admit Ipaq is great for power, but unless ya gonna have a friggen air bag around it, i would never ever pick one up again.

Wait until PDAs, especially ipaq are built stonger and take a small fall. The ipaq was a waste of $1200 (austrlian) dollars for me, and I dont think i will ever buy a Compaq device again becuase of their shitty customer support.

In addition, many companies in australia are starting to stop stocking Compaq devices becuase of the lack of customer support. Compaq doesnt give out many warrenties any more.

Make sure your PDA can take a fall before ya buy one, becuase, you will prolly drop it at some time.
I now GOT a PDA... And its kicking up a tantrum!

didn't you "fake" throw your device at your friend? I don't think abuse is coverered under warranty, unless you get the plus pack at CompUSA... it covers almost anything.

Good thing you weren't lugging around your desktop PC.

I just got my iPaq and I purchased the Compaq Carepaq for 2 yrs at $75 so I hope that covers most if any issues I might have.

I went to BestBuy and I go to the returns counter. This young, naive girl was back there (I mentally say "it's in the bag") so I was all ready for my new Casio. She looks at it, says "Do we even carry this? Go over there to dat glass case and ask dat person." I think to myself, I'll just pick up a nice new one of my choice and bring it back! The person at the mobile computing case was slightly smarter: asked for a receipt. I go "shit... It was a .. err.. present, and it's broke now. Can you unbroke it wit a new one?"
"Nope, not without a receipt. Here, let me give you Casio's phone number."
Ahh dammit. Maybe I'll try Circuit City next. They're real nice people there.

Ok first off, I don't know what's dumber...dropping your IPAQ or expecting Compaq to help you with your own stupidity. Also, the thing costs between $500 and $700 dollars depending on where you get it and if it is the 3650 or 3670. So, what were you doing that would cause you to drop such an expensive device? If you can't even hold onto it then you don't need to have it.

P.S. My IPAQ works great. I guess it's because its owner isn't a frigg'n moron.

Ya... dropping things is bad. Just like smoking, and chuck. Girls are evil (in that good evil way), blankets are soft, napkins are nice, and lint is fuzzy.
