A man that came from the "foam of the sea" to create civilization among South America. He wore a long hooded cloak, pale skin, and a white beared. He went around and taught everyone how to be civilized and is credited with the creation of the Aztec and Inca structures. He then retreated back into the foam of the sea. The Spanish conquistadors were confused for the Veracocha returned because of their similar appearance and method of travel (the sea).

Yes, it's a spanish-american legend, that's why we never heard of it. Aztecs and Incas are as aliens to us brazilians as Apaches and Navajos to the brits.

Apache? That's a helicopter, isn't it? And I'm sure that Navajos plays for Newcastle United... ;)

Funny that whenever native americans are mentioned, the popular tribes are normally listed- Navajo, Apache, Cherokee. Nowadays, there are small tribes that are accomplishing great things. The Muckleshoot, Pequot...

I am a member of the Coeur d' Alene tribe. Not a very big tribe- about 1500 members. But we have built schools, hospitals, casinos and grand hotels. These are state of the art structures. Each member recieves a per-capita payment from profits of the tribal investments.

We are the single largest company/investor in Idaho. Maybe that doesn't sound too impressive, but considering where we were just 10 years ago, we are making big strides.

Actually, that sounds really interesting. There never seems to be much coverage of any Indian affairs where I live in. Whether it's because we're on the East coast, or because the media just doesn't run it, I don't know, but if you got all your information from TV you'd probably still think that Indians were just the guys that occasionally translated for people on the X-Files. Nice to know that such is not the case.

And Ideot, pray tell, what are you doing here if you don't have a PPC?
I don't have nothing against kids (in fact, I work with them all day long), but you REALLY REALLY are annoying sometimes.
