WOW! Is this possible? If you have any more information I'd love to hear it. What kind of LEDs were in it before?

They were Red LEDs before Moose, couldn't you tell from hte red tinge to everything?~~ They weren't LEDs before, thats why they are called BackLights, not BackLightEmittingDiodes. IT has normal lights inside of it, similar to those lights used in the old gameboy lights that you would snap on your gameboy to play at night. As for replacing them with white LEDs... I can see the obvious advantages of it, but I can already guess that the screen qualithy would be pretty degraded.

That's what I thought. Are LEDs even variable brightness?

A screen shjot won't show you the change, itwould look exactly the same, you need an actual picture of the Casio

I assume the one with the changed LED's is on the bottom, it looks a little too bright, but with a little more work i bet you could get it to look just like the old casio backlight. Now the old once has some sort of a blueish tinge to it, how about putting some see through blue plastic around the lights?

I thought it was the exact same thing in both shots. In the second the lights in the room have been turned off, and the camera increased exposure, etc to compensate, which caused the screen to look washed out...

Dan East

well if Dan is correct about that, I dont know a Casio user that wouldnt want a how-to for your LED swap. PocketMatrix will be happy to host it for you if you do decide to make one.
