Pocket PC 2002 upgrade

Where can I get an upgrade for my ipaq to ppc 2002? I read that you have to pay for it if you bought it before a certain date. I live in the UK so would I still be able to get the CD (I don't have a credit card). Or would I be able to get it off the net somewhere? Finally I read that you have to get rid of some apps if you upgrade to 2002. Is this true and if so do I have a choice which ones to get rid of?<br>Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't think u can buy an upgrade until early October.

The last I heard, it would come out as a CD directly from Compaq.<br>No you won't have to get rid of anything because when you flash the ROM the new OS does it for you. The things missing (that don't come with the 2002 version) you can load to the RAM later.

BTW, it will only come out in october (with luck). After the WTC, who knows anything now-a-days.

Can I get it for my Casio EM-500? Or will I have to bring it to a store or something?

unless casio releases an upgrade rom chip, then don't plan on ever seeing  PPC 2k2 on your pda. Sorry, its the facts of life.

and then as someone said...if 2002 is arm-only they'd have to make some changes

Never read nothing that mentioned MIPS or SH upgrade. Only iPAQ and now the @migo are flashable.
