http://store.yahoo.com/dreampages/cascase2pocp.html

of course we have to wait 'till tomorrow to see if it is true, but I can't see why anyone would bother to make fake stuff like this now.

-----------------------------------------------
I HATE THE BUTTON LAYOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------
why casio, why?????

but to make up for that, I hear it can be used as a USB "master" so you can use keyboards and maybe printers and other USB peripherals right on the device!! awsome!

they got rid of the awsome crisp screen too :(

I don't think i'll be upgrading soon actually. I guess I'll wait until the next gen units with 400mhz. Hopefully the screen will be improved and casio will move back to their previous button layout.

I'm thinking MS requires the new PPC2002 units to have the gamepad in the middle. I dunno but every other new unit has it in the middle too.

Now the HP548 is going to have a contestant. Let's wait for the 3800 iPAQ.

poeple should learn how to read.. or perhaps learn how to learn. the screen shows the exact same amount of colors as the current one, the only difference being that it is also reflective, which is just as crisp. As for all of these specs, I believe I metnioed them about 3 weeks ago, and now theyre true :) heres some more of the same:

http://www.casio.com/personalpcs/product.cfm?section=19&market=0&product=4146

and

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/hardware/devices/casioe200_specs.asp

oh and this for the ipaq 2 and just about everything else:

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/hardware/default.asp

I don't necessarily like the lame d-pad layout and buttons, but it appears that every stupid pocketpc has this exact same layout. I do think the aethetics are much more appealing on this one than the new ipaq, with the HP being my seconds favorite. But the advantage over the HP is the USB Host CFII and SD slot for me.

I wasn't actually referring to the number of colours but the screen type. If the old casio screens (backlit) had 4096 colours I'm sure they wouldn't look as washed out as 4096 colors on the ipaqs relective screens... of course I havn't used an ipaq before so I can't say much.

I don't care actually if it is a reflective screen and I can see it outdoors, just as long as it's good indoors too... I remember the first time I took my casio outside and turned it on. I couldn't see anything and thought it didn't turn on and it was wrecked

...there's some more pics here
http://www.pdabuzz.com/Features/PPC2002_Launch/casio.html

http://www.pdafrance.com/bancessai/pocketpc/casioe200/e200_b.html

looks awsome but I think the new ipaq looks a tad better except for the dpad since it's wider that it is higher so it might be a little wierd to use.

i have both a EM500 and iPAQ. I like the iPAQ screen better (except for the 12bit colour thing)... i like looking at the iPAQ screen better.. i guess it's just a personal preference.
