My Battery Backpack

My Battery Backpack

Postby Moose or Chuck » Aug 12, 2001 @ 4:11pm

I just finished my new battery back pack. See i got tired of carrying around a battery extender in a seperate box outside of my pocket. With this new extender, i can easily fit it in my pocket, and then it attaches to my casio so that i dont have to set it on the floor or in my lap. While it makes my casio rather heavy, i think its worth the extra 20 hours i can squeeze out of the batteries without charging. attached are some pictures.

Image
Simple view

Image
Heres a nice side view to see how big it ends up when on it.

Image
This is the tail end of the bacpac and it shows how i cut the button holes and where the cord comes from

Image
Heres a good shot to show how big the pack is, its about two casio's high and about an inch longer than the casio, mostly because of the on/off switch attached at the top.

Image
One more view for ya :)

Let me know what you think.

Chuck, I admire your crazy construction skills, but I think personally I'd rather just carry the AC adapter than something that big. Good job with it, though, it looks great.

The cord the connects the battery pack to the PPC is some twenty inches long I think he said. All you'd need to do is sew or glue a belt clip on the battery pack and yank the cord full length to have a nice extra battery pack strapped to your girdle.

When u say watch movies, Do u mean movies from a microdrive/cf card, or is there a way u can attach an external cdrom/dvd drive to the PPC that I am unaware of?
