WisBar What? Where? Why?

WisBar What? Where? Why?

Postby JSVH » Dec 6, 2001 @ 11:18pm

Iv heard about this WisBar thing. Where can I find it? Is it free? Does it work with PPC 2002? Do reminders work on it (e.g. Appointment in 5 mins., Do you want to recive this beam, MSN: Bob says: "Hi!")?

PS: I hit the Reset Form button trying to post, csn you do something about that? for thoughs of us who post while half awake.

what do you want, a "are you really sure you want to do that" button, followed by a "I think your just half awake, hit yes if I am right" pop up window?

Nope, it can also close apps, switch tasks, adjust the sound volume, etc.
I use it, and would never go back. Excellent app, does everything I would want it to and I havent noticed any performance hit.

it is pretty worthless on the ppc 2k2, although you can skin it.

Sounds good, but if the reminders dont work how would you be notified of an alarm or other thing you would normally get via the reminder?

What do you mean my "worthless"? I would mainly want it as a skin, I dont have to have the apps for it. Do the Start and close buttons still work on PPC 2k2?
What I said about PPC being worthless was sort of a dumb thing to say, but I just think WisBar is a cool program.

So it's basically the same thing as the Qmenu for those who have a Compaq and skinnable with a bit more customization.

Qmenu has:

Close active task
Close all tasks
______________________
A list of running tasks
______________________
Contrast
File Explorer
Power settings/status
Volume setttings
______________________
QUtilities (Configure Qmenu, backup, self test)
Backlight settings/activation/reverse
______________________
Exit

Some of you probably know this, but it sounds just about identical to wisbar (plus, if it's mono like mine who needs skins :) )
Shut yo mouf.

Yes, I would agree. WisBar is better and very helpful. I don't know that I'll do without it.
