Huston i gotta problem...

Huston i gotta problem...

Postby Alfwok » Dec 27, 2001 @ 12:18am

I have a problem. One day I come home from school and I goto sync my @migo. Active Sync never gave me any problems in the past i just plug in the usb to my ppc and it sync but this time out of the blue i get an error message says something like "syncranization could not complete disconnect the divce and try again, or check the troubleshooting guide." So i disconnet try again same message i check my connections, reinstall activesync, try an new partnership. nothing works i searched the net for help and found some stuff but it didnt work ither. (i think the problem might be with the ppc cause i let my friend play pocketnes for an hour and he might have done something.) what happens is i turn on the ppc and it begins to connect then on the ppc the little connections icon in the lower-right of the screen goes away and the connection stops. whats wrong with this thing??

ok i was messing with it more and now it says this: syncronization cant be started because partnership info could not be accesses on your mobile divice. Disconnect your divice, reconnect your divice, and try to sync again. If the prob persists, use ActiveSync to back up all info on your divice, and clear the divice memory according to manufacturers documentation. After memory is cleared, reconnect your divice to your desktop computer.
how do i back up my info if i cant connect and to clear the memory is that the same as a cold restart?

i sometimes get this prob with my em500. delete and reinstall activesync, then set up a new partnership. Don't let it sync anything to start with, then let it sync calendar and contacts only, and after a few days let it sync tasks, files etc.
not very scientific, but it works for me.
Why?

I not sure, but since you already uninstalled and re-installed AS I think the problem is your PPC. By your last post I had the fealing that your friend somehow messed up the owners info on the PPC. I know it's a pain, but if I'm right (and you can't restore the info on the unit) you'll have to hard reset.
