Pocket Quake 2 Released

Postby randall » Jan 17, 2002 @ 5:05pm

I have had all my shit in "Storage Card\quake2\" and the PAK0.PAK is in "Storage Card\quake2\baseq2\"...

Then I use a shortcut I made (with DEXplor of course). It works perfectly fine for me, but I got my release over a week ago. Maybe he made some changes since then.

Quake 2? WHAAT?!!

Postby Dapper UK » Jan 18, 2002 @ 12:48am

Very impressed with PQ2, it's almost playable!
BTW after spending ages moving/deleting EVERYTHING on my Ipaq, i edited out the sounds from the pak instead. I'm not sure how the previous person got it down to 15.2 because mine is 19megs. Still, it works perfectly and requires MUCH less mem. I would upload it somewhere, but i'm unsure of the legalities (& this is the first spare moment i've had in months to just muck about on net!) If anyone needs it though, lemme know. Anyway, the point of this post - Well done Mr Dan East!

Hey Dan is the sounds eating up all the ram a fixable problem? I was just wondering becuase when there is acually sound support youll need a 64mb ppc to play it without the crashes. Do you think it would help to reencode the sounds at a lower sample rate if the engine wont bitch about it.

I believe that Pocket Quake does not work on the new operating system (Pocket PC 2002) because it doesn't work in the Toshiba e570, Casio E-200, Ipaq 36xx (pocket pc 2002 OS) Ipaq 38xx, so i think we have to wait till Dan gets it ready for Pocket PC 2002.
