Got a "missing component" error ? Check this !

Postby Nikolai » Feb 3, 2002 @ 5:24am

I deleted all things Lucasarts from my ipaq
today and then recopied Indiana Jones to it, including the huge monster file.

Then I dropped the Feb. 2 ARM pocketscumm file
(I tried both versions) into the same file folder with Indiana Jones.

No go.

What could be wrong? Am I suppose to rename a file or something?

The game is on my 3 gig Toshiba pc card drive.

Mind you, everything was fine with the old silent pocket scumm, but now I get this error message...

"Can't find pocketSCUMM or one of its components..."

Any ideas?

I have a 64 meg ipaq, 2 gig pocket pc card drive, and the 2002 operating system.

Thanks in advance.
Nikolai

The latest version requires a DLL for playing sounds / music. Make sure you copied it into the same dir as PocketScumm, or into your Windows directory. It should have been included in the Zip you downloaded.

I found I had to copy Gapi 1.2 into the same directory to get it to work...

Im sure you dont need it in the same directory, but it worked!

Please email me the SDLAudio.dll file at Nikolaigogol@hotmai

Postby Guest » Feb 3, 2002 @ 6:35pm

Please email me this SDLAudio.dll file or whatever it's called at

Nikolaigogol@hotmail.com

If you can do that for me I thank you profusely.

I ask because I downloaded the SDLAudio 1.2.3 and put ALL OF IT into my pocket pc where Atlantis was, I copied every file and subfile and dropped them in also.

It still doesn't work.

If you email me the file then at least my diagnosis can proceed to the next step.

Many thanks

It sounds like you are downloading the wrong distribution! Don't download the sources, download the binaries. What you are doing is like going out to buy a new car, and buying a set of blueprints instead, and wondering why you can't drive them. :)

This one:
http://arisme.free.fr/PocketScumm/binar ... -2-ARM.ZIP

Arsime, you guys ought to place the binaries before the source on your download page. 99% of the people visiting your website are there to get the binaries.

Hint to guess what the icon is : PocketScumm can be used to run MONKEY island

Just for you here's a copy of SDLAudio

http://arisme.free.fr/PocketScumm/binar ... io-ARM.zip

I hope it'll work

OK I'll put the binaries before the sources for the next release if it helps ![/b]
