At this point, device-specific problems will have to be isolated by volunteer programmers owning that specific model of Pocket PC.

Has anyone else had success running pQ2 on a Jornada 568?

Quake 2 - HP Jornada 568

Postby isd503 » Feb 21, 2002 @ 8:13pm

The demo from Dan East's site does not work on mine either. A small window pops up containing the version number, Dan's e-mail address and who made the skins. When I close it, and all other windows, I get an Error window that reads: Couldn't fall back to software refresh!

I am having problem with either Quake Ver on my Jornada 568. I installed PQI sucessfully and it runs the demo but I cannot manuver within the menu or select anything.

I ume the game was created for the iPAQ and not the Jornada hardware?

Has anyone sucessfully played PQI or II with the Jornada 568?

Ya well i dunno about you but soon my ipaq will have more ram than your jornada due to a 128mb upgrade, and it already has ppc2002. Also jornada sucks my ass man with only a type I cf slot and a tiny little screen phewwww hp is a crock. And considering i bought my ipaq to play pq and devlope i think it was a good choice ;). Also another reason i havent wasted money on a ppc2002 device is becuase i just payed 500 bucks for my ipaq so i think ill hold off for a 400mhx xscale with ce.net and then we will see who has the dinasour.

hahaha... Dont worry man. Within a couple of weeks we'll both have a dinasour!

I have 3 laptops, 2 desktops and this new PDA. Their all old technology by the time I get em home...

Waddyagonnado

I bought the Jornada cuz my digital cam and laptops use the CF slot which makes that easy.

I just had to send my new GHz laptop (Compaq) back to the factory for repairs 2 months after I bought it when the mainboard fried. After 4 weeks they finally screwed me and charged me $350 to replace the keyboard that had a drop of coffee on it then replaced the MB. 2 days after I got it back the new keyboard broke and I had to send it back again. It's been 2 more weeks and I still dont have it. I swore to them at that point that after 3 Compaq computers, I would never buy another Compaq again. Hence, the Jornada!

Enjoy your iPaq. Great machine. just pray you dont have to deal with "Customer Service"!
