Argentum..What The HELL?

Well i dont think the game looks like crap. I think the game looks as though it will be a kick ass product. All im saying is IonSide should have kept there mouths shut becuase its just causing all this commotion dont say a word until the game is going to be released FOR A 100% FACT. Duke 4 ever looks like an awesome game that im still going to buy the first day its out but 3D Realms went through this very same ordeal and have finally laerned to keep there mouths shut instead of leading people on and pissing off there customers. Seriously 3D Realms message board you to look hust like Agentums. Still looks good, most likely still worth a buy, just needs to not have another delayed release.

Before you go pointing fingers, lets get somethings straight. I am not part of Ionside. I never have been. I have a full time job making games. I am not involved with anything that Ionside does.

Old timers to the boards will rememeber that I offered to help carpe out back in april last year. I finished all my stuff on the game in august. I knew very little of the deals or contracts etc that they got going.

I got into this to push the pocketpc more as a gaming device. Fuck, I gave up loads of my evenings and weekends to make some good gfx for a good game, and then fuckers slag me off. Fuck that im not taking that.

And contrary to some peoples perception I am getting NO money off the game. Yes you read it right, NO FUCKING MONEY.

Wow why did your company do that? Did you make it for your work and then give it to carpe or what? Becuase if you made it on your own time for argentum then im curious how they would have ownership.

John, I just wanted to clarify that my remarks were in regard to "official" Ionside posts made to the Argentum forum, not this thread. I have always known you weren't a part of Ionside.

As for you not making any money off that deal, well, I'm sorry to hear that.

Remember I did all this in my spare time, after work, and at weekends.

I went to a lawyer to discuss this, and after all this was finished Im left with an 1100 dollar bill.
Yes, ITS cost me 1100 dollars for this game so far to get it sorted.

Its something which had to be done. Hopefully carpe can maybe pay me that money in the future, although at the moment he needs the money more than me. Hes a damn good friend, and I respect him enough to forget about it, and see the game out.

Wow. And I had surmised that Monkeystone stepped in and bailed Ionside out of that. All I can say is that someone was right in another thread when they used the Greed word.

I only know of ONE person that has made any money off Argentana- this leaves a sour taste in my mouth because it hasn't been released. It doesn't look like this person is going to straighten out any time soon, either.

This kind of shit pisses me off, because I know Lomax put a lot of hours, dedication and thought into this project. Working from April until August is a massively long time- but consider that John is a professional and has been doing this for a decade already. So he is pretty damn efficient at what he does- no slagging off there.

The coders on the other hand are basically newbies (show me where they have completed and proven themselves in the industry), and seem to be reaping all the rewards. There is something seriously wrong here. I am not endorsing this game any longer, and I won't buy it. I've never cared for RTSs anyway, and I like liars even less.

Try to delete THIS, CRAPDIEM.

Oops. I guess the statement I made earlier in this thread wasn't entirely accurate:

Stole is too harsh a word, but it is in the ballpark.

John, did you actually sign over all rights to your images to Ionside? Or did you just agree to let them use them free of charge? If the latter then you could sell them to someone who is actually willing to pay for them, or at least put them into the public domain for universal good.

I dont know what is going on with Monkeystone and Ionside. I ask Carpe from time to time how its going with the deals and stuff, and he lets me know a few things.
