yea i know, sorry. thanks for the info.

now i'm finally syncing to my ipaq, how long does this take? I've been syncing for about 15minutes now and the progress box hasn't changed..still on 43min and 46sec remaining and the blue bar status hasn't even showed up yet.

depends.

if you're synching the pak file that might take a while depending on whether its the full size or the compressed size.

if its just the .exe it should take a minute or something - certainly not 15.

yea, it was the full file(8mb). I finished syncing, but the game isn't in the programs/game folder. when i opened it from file explorer, an error came up saying W_LoadWadFile:couldn't load gfx.wad...i dunno

the pak file has to be in \Quake\ID1\

the .exe can be anywhere

There should be a sticky thread at the top of the pq page called installation problems, where everyone who doesn;t read the readme and work out what to do. i'm fed up with seeing someone getting the same error message and starting a new thread every day.
