I had tossed around ideas for alternate objectives, rather than just blowing up the enemy. But thats what Snails live for- big explosions and maiming anyone, even their own team members.
We also wanted to release the game this decade. Obviously we had to set restrictions, because once ideas start flowing they don't tend to stop.
I've only played Worms World Party twice- never played any other versions. Jason has never played any version of Worms, until Snails was released.
Peter might have played Worms, but he didn't write the stories, levels, weapons or characters. So his "Worms" influence was restricted to whatever he provided us in the engine.
