There's also another way to get rid of Kazaa's spyware (works with every version!):
1. Install Kazaa without all the "cool free bonus tools" (= spyware).
2. Run AdAware (there's a new version available, download ) and remove the spyware found.
3. Download the and extract it to the Windows\System or \System32 (for NT based Windows) folder.
The dummy .DLL contains all the entry points called by Kazaa (and other programs that use CyDoor), but it does nothing harmful - unlike the original.
AdAware will still consider the dummy to be spyware since it checks the filename only, you may ignore it.
