I know we don't generally talk about, but has antone actually got any of the distributions of linux for the ppc working? i tried familiar, and got the basics installed but i couldn't sort it out to download updates so i was stuck with a black screen and a penguin, communicating over telnet. a waste of a few hours.
does anyone know how to get any of the disributions installed into ROM and working, with decent step by step instructions, like the first half of the familiar install.
I also dont know linux commands or have a linux machine, so anything requiring linux to build it or anything is out of the question.
anyone know anything. if you do, tell me. chriva i get the feeling you are going to post, dont. or if you do, use a spell checker.
