Ummmm... the SNES has a 3.7MHz 16-bit chip for a CPU with some extra graphics and audio chips lurking around to lighten the burden.
Comparing the PSX (aka Playstation 1) to a "SNES with a CD" is ludicrous. Ok, so
originally it was meant to be one, but Nintendo pulled out of its development and Sony bolted on a
lot of extra horse-power (notably 3d graphics hardware) before they sold it.
