Chriva. If the light flashes while the iPAQ is charging, then the iPAQ is not "dead", per se. You should look around on the handhelds.org site for more information about restoring a valid windows image - IIRC you can download one from their site somewhere. I'd look up the information for you but we've just entered "web-secure" hell at work and I can only use lynx on my server to browse now...
