DevREQ: Decent Browser

DevREQ: Decent Browser

Postby suchiaruzu » May 22, 2002 @ 5:36pm

Hi there,
I just spent some time looking for a good browser (because PIE is annoying and takes ages to load local sites for example), when I stumbled across "ThunderHawk". I think all of you saw the news item. Problem is, it costs USD 50 A YEAR.
I just wanted to ask if anyone was interested in developing a similar browser for less/free. However, unfortunately I will not be able to offer anything but comments and suggestions as I'm REALLY busy right now doing all the shit I never finished.
Would be really cool to have something decent.
Thanks,
-|Eike

Well, yeah thunderhawk is nice, but it runs through a proxy server, and i doubt we could afford one :), plus, most open source Web Browsers either suck or are slow or memory intensive, Unless you count lynx!!!

Why would there be such a mighty need for a proxy?
