Spam, I thought you were 30 and an account manager? But your going to run to daddy because he owns a bank?

If you really ARE 30, you are THE single most immature 30-year-old I've ever met (and that's saying a lot because I'm 30 next February and I'm immature as hell!).

But, as I (and I'm sure everyone else) knew all along, you are NOT 30, you are probably under 18.

My point? I don't care what age you are, doesn't make a difference to me, but it further proves the point that you are dishonest (or you ARE honest, but a horribly immature adult, take your pick).
...and so I said to Mr. Gates: "$640 billion should be enough for anyone!"

At what point did this switch from a discussion about Spam's forums and become a free-for-all flame war?

Spam - calm down. You are getting upset because they are not listening to the answers you provide and keep posting the same arguments that have already been proven untrue. Sit it out for a while and give yourself time to think through your post (i can allways tell when you're getting flustered, your english starts to break down)

Fzammetti - I am surprised at you! You have been one of the few voices of reason here that has actualy been discusing the situation instead of mindless flaming. I thought you had gotten over the 'all pirates are kids' mentality and realized the largest segment of warez users are middle aged professionals in the IT field!

TechMage, Refractor - There have been plenty of complaints about Spam's to his DNS service, ISP, Domain Registry, etc. Many by groups much more powerful than a self-employed developer (Microsoft, 2 diferent anti-piracy groups, several large development companies) Spam's is still here for one simple reason, there is nothing there that breaks any laws or TOS agreements.

Phantom - In case you haven't reviewed the entire thread, None of the Spam members started the flaming (Spam, LM, Ieg, and myself) There have been 2 or 3 other annonomous guests that have poped in here flaming both sides that got this started. People's blood get's worked up and names start flying, and I can only come in here to calm you all down every once in a while (I do have a real job you know!)

Side note to refractor - Spam was not accusing you of being involved with his site, he was being sarcastic and attempting to point out that you were posting on a topic when you have never even seen the site in question. Incase you haven't figured it out yet I am the only nativly english speaker here from Spams, some times the others points get messed up in the translation.

************************************************
As I have said before, some of you still hear warez and think of a bunch of teen scriptkiddies. Or you think of the orginised theft they have in Asia and South America where you can buy a copy of MS Office for $50 on any streetcorner as long as you don't mind CD's with blue backs and a Xeroxed manual. Guess what, those guys are not gona come in here and have a discussion with you.

Spam's is a very diferent place. Things ofer there are more like letting your friend use a CD to see if they like it, and then they go out and buy their own copy. Yes, it is a violation of the EULA and Copyright law (before you say I contradict myself, nothing illegal happens on the server, people just meet there and conduct their 'business' elseware). Do we get loosers comming in there just for a quick score? Yes, but not so many anymore (they don't like how restrictive we are when it comes to new members) Do we ask people to support the developers? yes. Can I say we have gotten annyone to actualy buy a piece of software? I would like to think so, but this is the internet. I can tell you I was up until 2 last night screwing Madonna and you can't prove it eather way, people tell us all the time they purchased the software they use but I can't prove it.

What it all boils down to is you are pointing the fingers at the wrong people. This is like accusing every Taco stand in L.A. of supporting gangs because the gangbangers hang out there, Or the italian restraunts in Brookland because the mob heavy's eat lunch there.

I believe that Spam's site should definitely be shut down. As he's admitted himself, many newbies come to this site. If it's closed, then maybe some newbies would get scared and they'd stop pirating software, or they wouldn't have anywhere to get their files if they didn't know about IRC and were relying on Spam's FTPs. I agree that it's a community, yada yada yada, but the fact remains that it's directing people to warez sites.
