iPAQ volume

iPAQ volume

Postby Dave » Jun 13, 2002 @ 11:22pm

Is it me or is the iPAQ 36xx volume deafening even on the quietest setting? And it gets louder on volume level 2 or higher...

Is this right?

You're quite right... I assume that you are using PPC 2002? There's a patch available somewhere on Compaq's/HP's web site that reduces the volume, but not much.

It's pretty much one of the main reasons I sold my iPAQ and bought a Jornada 568.

lol, I didn't have a sound problem until I installed ppc 2k2, it didn't really matter on which setting you'd set it. It was always very loud. I got rid of the problem by installing the new sound driver dll by compaq

Don't do anything with this file. Just replace it. It's in ROM, you Can't do ANYTHING with it, except for replacing it with a file of he same name [but it will be still stored in ROM]. I've copied it, works fine, just like in PPC200, but it's too quiet now to listen it in the bus..
