Quake at higher resolutions

Quake at higher resolutions

Postby David Horn » Jun 14, 2002 @ 6:16pm

Performance issues aside, could I put a command in the autoexec.cfg file to instuct Quake at run at a higher resolution, such as 640X480?

I've been speaking to the folks at VoyagerVGA about running games at a higher resolution through their CF1 VGA card. Can you think of any other games that would look nicer at a higher resolution?
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

Snails would be cool in a higher resolution... you could see more of the level or make the snails bigger and have more detail

Although the Quake engine can pretty much render at any resolution, I only created support for 240x180 and 320x240 modes. It is impossible to set any other resolution in Pocket Quake. Further, to my knowledge these VGA adapters do not support GAPI. They should integrate at the OS driver level, and not the hardware level.
