He got the Alpha version to load the menu screen, but he hadn't programmed any input method at that time so there was no way to activate the "new game" option
I was the one that gave him the source, I wish he'd show me what he was doing on it and I could tinker around, although I don't pretend to program much. The thing about Descent was it was made for the 486, which means it was fully optimized in fixed point integers, which is what is so fast on PocketPCs, even XScale!
All we really need is the D-Pad, a Strafe key, a thruster key, and a fire key. That leaves the action button and one more button on the new devices so we could still fire missiles and afterburners. That's plenty for me, maybe even use the record button for some lesser used action, such as dropping a mine.
I think Descent would be EASIER to play on a PocketPC than with a full sized keyboard.
