guys, stop arguing with each other... I'd have to somewhat agree with chuck, the other boards do get a little offtopic sometimes... check out the pocketwolf board (might not be available in a few days)....<br><br>everyone here is contributing something to the boards... this is IMO the largest Pocket PC board I have visited where everyone knows everyone... it's a giant community...<br><br>so chuck -- get back here, everyone -- try to limit offtopic posts to anything discussion...... hey.. i just thought of a good feature for the new boards.... setting karma for posts... so that posts that are -1 will not be seen in the normal board unless people want to see them (check out the slashdot comments, they are sorta like this)... that would limit the offtopicness appearance to the normal boards, but would allow people to view the off topic posts if they wanted too... it would take 10 votes in order to make something final or something, or 1 vote as an admin.... so, whatcha think?<br><br>I don't want to moderate these boards that much, it takes away from the community... so the above feature i just mentioned might backfire and turn us into a boring forum -- which is not what we want...<br><br>give me your suggestions, and stop complaining/putting your fellow forum members down.

thats good but i thought maybe a checkbox when posting saying 'offtopic?' then an option in your profile to either a. view all b. view ontopic c. view offtopic ... <br><br>actually, i just realised that wont work. thanks chris, you saved us all again.

The offtopic posting should really be limited to the Anything Discussion.<br>i believe it really pisses people off if they ask a question and get 6 pages of offtopic comments, saying the guy who asked sucked and maybe something about muffins and pauls future girlfriends, 10 'bah's in it and not a single answer<br>why shouldnt that work, paul?

paul's wouldn't work because why would someone post something just to have it hidden by checking off an "off-topic" checkbox.
