This just In....Casio ending E series....More BE's !!!!!!!!!

Postby GreyWolf Ghost » Jul 15, 2002 @ 4:13am

Yep you heard me right. Casio the same people who know how to build things but have no clue as to supporting them. Have discontinued the E series in North America to back the BE 300.

"According to the head sales rep for Casio in Texas, the company has decided to discontinue distribution of their Pocket Pc products in the E-series and have decided to push their Pocket Manager known as the BE-300. The Pocket PC version of the Casio product will still be produced in Japan, where they have a larger market than any of their competitors. The US market was just so tough with many of the manufacturers having to sell their products below cost just to get entry into the market. Casio has opened up more funds for programmers who create software for the BE-300. Sales reps in the company expect Casio to come up with the next generation of this item, possibly the BE-500 recently brought out in Japan."

There is money to be made!!!!!!!

MIPS dead??? Not yet !!!! The fight is on now!!!!!

"THE BE-300 IS BETTER THEN A POCKET PC!" BLAH!!

Do you want to know what the BE-300 is? they took the old E-125 and put in half the memory.. made a new case and repackaged it.. So you, my friend, have a brand new obsolete Pocket PC.

That costs less then a Pocket PC and has been gaining ground since the hack started before Christmas of 2001. When The Windows desktop made it's first appearance.

Not bad for 7 months of development by the public at large I would say. But there is room to expande yet.

My Jornada costs less than your BE-300. I was gonna get it, looked cool at the time. I played around with it at the stores, and I hated the Palm organizer interface. Sorta reminded me of it.
Still love my Jornada. Plays mp3's, old lucasarts games and SNAILS!!! Booyah! :P lol Just joking, don't start flaming and arguing and the whole shiznitz

Still, its an obsolete device. If I wanted to, I could hack Windows XP to run on an IBM PS/2. but I wouldn't want to.

Some people can't justify paying $600 for a PPC, so they buy a be-300, which I'm fine with. I carry over $2000 worth of PPC and HPC equipment on my at all times (other then showering) but some don't need that much equipment. BUT.. When you say that the BE-300 is better then a PPC, that's over the line.

It's like someone who is born with a small penis :) you can make all the pumps and sparkly attachments but when all is said and done, your still inadequate.
