Dave Mathews band can either be really good or really bad. Personally, I don't care for their music at all, but they are extremely talented.
Warren, I can do anything and much, much more than Mushroomhead, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Hatedeath, or any other ones. Give me 2 guitars, 2 bass, a keyboard and effects and a drum and I'll fucking blow your mind. I won't have 2 guitars playing the exact same thinig and 2 basses playing the exact same thing with a keyboarder who hits the same keys over and over. And I won't have a guy who just growls. The other guy could potentially have a good voice, but I don't like how he applies it. Just think, for every simplistic, repeating, power chord guitar part, you have two guitar players sharing the task of writing it. For every simplistic, repeating bassline, you have two basses sharing the task of writing it. I'd like to think if I had two heads working on one song I could make it more musically impressive than that.
I would sincerely hope that I am a much more accomplished guitar player than they are. Pounding powerchords or the lower E string is hardly impressive, and hardly backs your arguements. Your arguement for a fuller sound is also null, as most of the time they play the exact same thing. My band has two guitars, but we make our sound more rich and appealing by layering them.
I'm glad you enjoy your weird alien bands, I have nothing wrong with it, but when you say they are talented, I have a hard time believing you know what talent is. They wouldn't be so big if they didn't dress like aliens and scream about being made fun of. I hate the "I dress up like aliens, but why the fuck are you looking at me?" mentality. And that's one that every one of these bands possesses, it seems.
The fates lead him who will;
Him who won't, they drag.
