Optimizations

I'm pretty new to the scene. I just picked up a Sharp Zaurus 5500 and loaded it up with this amazing work of software.

I'm curious as to what the community is doing to get some more FPS out of the game. I mean, on a P133 Quake pulls ~30fps at this resolution. I understand the StrongArm has no FPU, so what can we do to get it running faster? Are people working on integer conversions? It seems work on the project hasn't really moved much for a long while.....

I also think we need to put together the best .cfg's for the game and get them on a site where it's easy for people to get them. What settings have shown the most impact on PDAs?

Thanks for the info Moosemaster. I'll give those a try as soon as I get my CF card....

Jadam, I took a peek at the code. Yeah, I can see the issue. There are tons of floats :) Which .c do you think is the least optimized right now? I'd love to take a stab at this stuff.

I just wonder how fast Quake would run on these PDAs if we could get rid of most of the floating point and whatever else is in there causing trouble....
