Thank for the advice everyone. It's really appriciated. I'll be using this PDA for 3 things.

Playing DivX Music Videos
Gaming
Basic PIM

I've seen the benchmarks for the E-200 and I know that it blows everything else away with it's video capabilities. I just wish that Casio would have left the button config of the E-200 the same as the E-1xx and EM-500.

Does anyone know what kind of devices actually have drivers out right now to work with the USB of the Casio? Also, has the reported "Dust Under the Screen" problem been resolved with the E-200?

Well, Still have yet to get my replacement PDA. They guy who was selling it to me, is having some problems. If you care to read about em, go here .

So now my choice lies inbeween the Toshiba e550g or the iPaq 395x. No need to start another pointless poll on here, just give me your recommendations. The selling points for each item for me are:

Toshiba - Dual memory slots for SD and CF
Biggest screen of any PPC

iPaq - Best screen since the Casio E-125
High powered IRda port for making it a universal remote
Most supported line of PocketPC's (accessories, cases, expansions)

I'll be using it mostly for gaming, basic PIM, Word, Excel, and playing Music vids ripped to DivX. That reminds me. Is there a public released DivX player that can run on an X-scale processor? Gimmie your views on what one I should get, or if you have a write in vote... bring it up!

I already bought it. It was just now being replaced under his warenty and well it's taken for fucking ever. I have stayed in contact with him, and have gotten nothign but excuses, although some of then were validated. I decided that since I need a PDA for college this semester that I am just gonna go ahead and buy one and then keep on hounding this guy til he gets mine for me, and then sell it brand new. If push comes to shove, I'll take him to small claims court, although I hope it doesnt have to come to that.

Well let me straighten one thing out. The Compaq does NOT have some high powered IRDA, it has Consumer IR and IRDA side by side. So it's not like you could just increase the power to any IRDA and turn it into a universal remote control. The beam is too wide on IRDA, it will never work like that.

The Toshiba Genio e550g has a huge screen but is still apparently smaller and lighter in every dimension than the iPaq. A lot of people say that it's also much faster than the iPaq H3955. The Toshiba Genio's website says it uses 100MHz SDRAM, a some funky kind of video chip. I don't know if that's significantly different from any other's. I thought all PPC's used 100MHz SDRAM. But that's just a headsup.

iPaq:
-universal remote
-amazing screen (I cannot understate this. It gets brighter when hit by sunlight!)
-widely known and available, tons of accessories

Genio:
-SDIO and CF Type II
-big screen but not as bright
-better joystick

Those are the main selling points of each.
Some people have said that the Genio even has a much better battery life because it implements the XScale power usage features better and even lets you select 200MHz instead of 400MHz. However, I've had my iPaq H3955 for 3 weeks now and I've only charged it once!
Of course the DPad on the iPaq isn't the best. It's perfectly fine. I don't have a problem with it. But it definitely could be better. But I don't want to end on a bad note for the iPaq. The iPaq does have just about every accessory you'll ever want and you can find it in just about any computer store.

Well i just got an iPaq 3955 off of eBay for 565.00 plus 20 buck for S&H&I. I was about to purchase it off of BestBuy.com cause they had 75 dollars in rebates and free shipping, but sales tax was 32 bucks and change so I said screw it.

Finally, I will be able to play that copy of Snails I won so long ago!

I thought about buying the Ipaq 39xx while I was at Circuit City on friday. I had enough money to buy it for their 630 dollar pricetag, but I had my heart set on the Jornada 568. The biggest reason I didn't buy the Ipaq 39xx was because it has an XScale processor. The awsome battery and screen on the Ipaq 39xx was appealing, but the XScale processor just disgusts me. Something advertized as 400MHz, but performs slower then a 206MHz ARM processor with most applications, is fraud in my opinion. MS says CE.NET will optimize the XScale, but will HP/Compaq, Toshiba and Fujitsu offer an upgrade? I don't know, but it's too risky for me to find out. Intel says they are working with PPC manufacturers on fixing the XScale problem, but who knows if it can be fixed? There are just too many uncertain factors for me so I stuck with the good old ARM. I love the Jornada 568, and the only gripe I have about it is the screen. The purple border, dark left corner, and purple hue. Some Jornada 568 users don't have any of these problems, so hopefully I can get HP to send me a device without these problems.

There aren't many apps that SLOW down the XScale, you'll notice menus are snappier, etc. For the powerful IR, and the huge battery life, I think it'd be worth it, even if they don't offer an upgrade. Besides, with the 568, there's no chance in an upgrade, with the 3900 you do have a chance. You just hear about the few programs that don't run as fast, but there are many like Argentum that will run a lot faster.
