Great News: Overclock/Underclock utility for new XScale

Well what do I know, I've never used this program before

But I do have a hunch, a big one. I don't know the details, but if the memory frequency is lowered then you probably won't get any more performance. If it's higher, as Mali said, then you will see a performance increase. It's like a graphics card, if you overclock the core GPU you might get a few more FPS, but if you overclock the memory than you'll get an even bigger increase, that's because the graphics card is bus limited, just like I believe the XScale is.

Anton seems to be a very helpfull person, I will get the register key and then tell you my resutls here. I don't know the details like most of you do, but once I get it up and running on the Dell 300, I will post if I notice a difference in using the pocket snes games or not. That is the only one program that I know that will show frame rates.
Then maybe I can post results if you can tell me what program to use to post results. Like sigen said, I am evolving. hehe

Good Job to everyone for the careful stance here. I want to know all the details before even trying such a program, and so far I've learned a lot more than I would have otherwise! :wink:

Cyg, I am curious about the benchmarks for pocketsnes on your dell -- I'm getting the same machine.

I posted this yesterday on brighthand, and it's on page 12 of the pocket hack master thread. Using an e740 at 472mhz I achieved 9.5fps in PocketQuake using an empty autoexec except for timedemo demo1.
