Is there going to be a 1910 CF sleeve?

Well the way I see it they are going to be out in the cold anyway with dell making a 400MHz PDA with sd/mmc and CF slot only minus the builtin bluetooth, but no need for a sled for anything.

Just remember the iPaq may be slim but its wide and it can get very thick with a sled.

yes, but the CF slot is most often (other than for memory) used for WiFi, thus making it not that required. The iPaq slot is SDIO anyway. I do agree, though, that $700 is a bit excessive.

I got my iPaq H3955 because of the expandability. I love thin and really hate the iPaq's design, but it's the only one that offered the expandability options. The minute I saw a digital camera sleeve for the iPaq I was sold. And to my surprise I stumble upon a TV/FM Tuner sleeve for the iPaq! And many a GPS sleeve!

It may not be the greatest out there, as I readily admit, but it's definitely the most expandable, and that's what I'm looking for.

Ya, I'd tend to agree. You should have known what capabilities the device had before you bought it. Now you bought it and now you have it. It's not the time to ask questions about it, especially about things that you require for it and should have been curious about before you laid down the money.

But I'd be happy to see it all go to SD, as long as an SD Type II expansion were created for bigger and bulkier SD cards, such as wifi and bluetooth, so they don't have to have a projection sticking up and out of the device. And a single CF Sleeve could hold 5 SD Type II ports where one was available before.

you dont need 5 SD slots neither bulkier SD type II slots. SDIO can handle everything, specially with the surprise in CES of the new Combo WiFi/128MB Storage SDIO cards (and yes, they are as small as a normal SD card). and the expected price is $100-$200, thats not too expensive as i thought they could be. Now, poor poor iPAQ1910 users without SDIO (including me ) but when i bought it, i knew it didnt have SDIO and a slow 200Mhz processor, so i cant whin
i like it as it is, or as i could be? with overclock utilities, and some news that brings hopes that every XScale device might have SDIO included, this device keeps being very cool, IMHO.

i think HP was very specific developing the iPAQ1910, they wanted a thin/small/light/simple/cheap price. if you add a sleeve or CF slot:
1)it wont be thin anymore
2)wont be small anymore
3)wont be light anymore
4)it wont be simple
5)sleeves cost $$$, so no cheap

Wait wait wait. The Combo chips are based on this WLAN6060 SD Card by SyChip. I'd have to say that it protrudes fairly far.

Well, think of it this way:
nVidia uses the crippled GeForce4 MX's for the low-end computer user, while the TI's are reserved for buyers who want really good performance for a modest price. [analogy] HP does pretty much the same thing; only without total the suckiness of an MX. [/analogy]
The 19xx is a good device for people who want a PDA for a little gaming, and a lot of functions that the traditional PDA was supposed to be. HP crippled the built-in software bundle (As I checked at OfficeMax today), and as Sponge said, possibly the proccesor.
In short: I would not recommend the new iPAQ's. They remind me too much of the MX way of doing things.
The Dell definetly has the best bang for the buck. (It also has built-in CF and SD, too)
