Hey Randall, I reckon you gotta figure the people that reviewed it are primarily Plam users, and dabble in PPC for review purposes. <br><br>Plam has padded all the walls in their world, hence there is little incentive to think on your own. <br><br>I reckon the hardest thing to do is to think like an idiot, and try to solve their problem before they arise. I have to give Plam credit for "pre-thinking" all the idiotic moves their users would make in order to provide an OS that even my Cat can use. <br><br>Sadly, that doesn't speak highly for what Plam thinks of it's users. I mean there are times when you "Chimp-Proof" something, and there are times when you know your user base is "advanced" enough to not have to follow the straight and narrow path...<br><br>

Actually, I like things that are hard to install. I remember FS98... It took me about 6 hours to make it run. And WinME... Oh boy... 10 hours to make it work... But when I finished I felt really good - "Yeah! I did it! *screams* I´m GOOD!" <br><br>PS: I´m too lazy to add a "~" to the first sentence...

I just saw the blurb in MaximumPC. At least they admit the PPC rules over Plam in the game arena.<br><br>But what's the deal with the pic of a text-based PLAM GAME? They admit the PPC has the power to push some awesome pixels, and then they show a text-based game- a genre I haven't played since the Apple IIe in late 1987.<br><br>PLAM- Simple is as simple does.<br><br>

ur right about the "blurb" part.. that's about all it was. <br><br>I can't believe Plam won in the interface area.. I also think that pocket pc's should have ruled in the memory zone.. can your Palm hold up to 48GB of data? (External PC-Card Drive @ 48GB)... or 2GB with a PCCARD, or 1gb with CF?.... does you plam have up to 64mb internally?....<br><br>Oh,... and how fast is your plam?..... 33mhz?... <br>HAHAHAHA... l4m3r.<br><br>whatever.

I don't understand how these people are supposed to be reliable in the industry. No wonder 99% of computer users are complete idiots. Look at who they are following.<br><br>Even my mom understands that my PPC can do everything my first laptop could do and MORE (486DX4, 16M RAM, internal Soundcard). That laptop can't even play MP3's without skipping.<br><br>

but, i have to admit, when i saw their thingy on monitors for the comp, I immediately wanted a plasma screen for my room

Yeah, I've wanted one of those for watching movies. I was in Manchester's airport a few days ago, and they had those things hanging all over the place. Very clear and extremely bright.<br><br>Chuck, older screens refreshed slow, but the active matrix display on my laptop, as well as my iPaq's screen, don't blur at all. Low-end displays probably do...<br><br>Dan East

no i'm talkin about about the computer ones, and i'm talking about games not for Movies. movies = 30fps or 70+fps for games.

Chuck is right about the LCD screens having lower refresh rates, but they can be quite acceptable for most gaming. When you can pick any 17" CRT and 99.99 percent of the time it will be able to do at least 120HZ it makes you wonder why most LCDs you find only do up to 75 HZ. On top of that some don't really cut it in the brightness and or contrast areas.<br><br>I think I'll wait for Orgainic Light-Emitting Deisplays which will come out a few years from now. They'll be brighter, cheaper, thinner, less prone to damage, use less energy, can be seen clearly in broad daylight, and, oh yah, don't leak hazardous materials when scrathed on the screen.
